Sport Chrono & Porsche Connect Question...
Discussion
I'm in the process of speccing a new 718 Cayman (don't burn me at the stake all you turbo haters!
) to replace my 981 Boxster.
I'm moving from a manual to PDK (more burning at the stake) and like the idea of Sport Chrono, but only for the throttle blipping (fancy clock, launch control and DTM don't interest me). £1400 is a lot to fork out for throttle blipping! Does anyone currently drive a PDK without Sport Chrono? What are the down shifts like without throttle blipping?
Secondly, I was also planning to choose Porsche 'Connect' (£422), mainly for Apple CarPlay over PCM Nav (£1052) as I never use Nav. However, my dealer mentioned this morning that the PCM Nav option includes Porsche Connect (his knowledge seemed to be purely based on the fact that their configurator won't let you spec both). But the PCM Nav info doesn't mention that it includes Connect/CarPlay??? Does anyone have a definitive answer?

Probably not the answer you are looking for however, I have sports chrono on my 997 and honestly never use it. I might put it in sport now and again but sport plus is not needed especially on uk roads. The only reason I would see it being used is on a track.
My GF has a 981 PDK without chrono and I don't miss it especially as it comes with the sport option as standard

My 981 cayman S pdk has sports chrono. I use sport most times, and sport+ where appropriate (both using paddles, not in auto). It sharpens throttle response, and gear changes, so for me worthwhile. Get the paddles, not the buttons though.
No buttons any more. Even the standard 718 steering wheel has paddles now.
