Currently in a seafront apartment with the family until weds. Visiting some friends down here mainly. In Broadstairs, Kent.

Anyone got any good ideas of something to do/visit for kids ranging 2-6. It's bd freezing so a day on th beach isn't really practical and i can't see anything obvious we could go do.

Also for th trip back to Leeds on weds, ideally we could head home and stop after the couple of hours, do something amazeballs for th day then drive home.. Any ideas on something between Kent and Leeds that's not st?

Bit of a bleak coast at this time of year...

Margate has the Turner Contemporary with things to do for the kids. Also I think Dreamland theme park is open yet? Not sure.
Also the Hornby Visitor Centre has / had a pretty good model railway.

On the way back up you have Brands Hatch - might be worth popping in, even just to watch some testing going on.

Or just get a train into London for a day...

Leeds Castle?
Kids love it and lots of half term stuff to do used to take my little one there every week with just 1 ticket a year! Best playground ever!

Gullivers World at Milton Keynes on your way home? Or Chessington/Thorpe Park, Lego Land, Windsor Safari park, ZSL at Whipsnade, Woburn.

But bugger all in God's waiting room, oops I meant Broadstairs apart from watching the nearly dead race their buggies

Haha... Yes I've got the impression not much goes on here. I bet it's lovely in summer though, th beach us on our doorstep but we could only manage to ten minute walk before my 2yr old filled his wellies with ice cold seawater and the middle child's face started to turn black. It's fking freezing!

It's the train to London bit that really puts me off. My youngest lad can be a right moody bugger on trains, plains, and automobiles in fact. I really don't fancy dragging them all into the capital, it could get messy.

Plan is to head for th hornby centre and turner contemporary tomorrow, then Leeds Castle or gullivers on the way home weds.

Thanks again for the tips.

Kent won the Lonely Planet best European family holiday destination in 2015, with Thanet featuring strongly; it's a shame you're there in February smile
