Bought a ps4 yesterday, this is the second one, sold it after a few months as I was spending too much time on it.

Over a year on living with the missus who is always wanting to watch her st on tv, I decided to get another, to keep me entertained and keep me out of the pub at the weekends! I used to play a lot of COD back in the day, most of my spare time from mw2 up until ghosts, with the majority spent on mw3 on Xbox 360, think I had like 50 days played or something stupid, played ghosts on ps4 for a while before I sold it.

I got black ops 3 with the ps4 this time, played online a bit, seems ok, nowhere near as enjoyable as the modern war games., problem is I used to be very good at these and very competitve, it took the fun out of it for me, and I don't want the same to happen again.

I'll play the campaign for black ops soon, but I need some other games, some with good campaigns/stories to keep me entertained, will get gta 5 at some point as that can keep me entertained for hours. Cod is the only real game I've played in the last 5 years.

So I need some recommendations for something that i can play casually, but will keep me entertained for a while, without wanting to throw my controller at the wall after getting killed by a camper when I'm 1 kill of a 25 kill streak!

I'm not really sure what your asking for as you mention offline and then mention kill streaks right at the end.....

However, if you want a good offline game I would recommend Far Cry 4 & MGS Phantom Pain. Both huge games that you can sink hundreds of hours into between them.

Add Fallout 4 to that list, a game you can easily sink a lot of hours into.

Different story telling games are my latest favourites,

Life is Strange
Until Dawn

Fallout is also keeping me busy until Unchartered 4

I really didn't get on with it frown

I found it a very, very difficult game to get into as a newbie to the franchise....

I've just finished Just Cause 3 and it took me awhile. I had quite abit of fun liberating all the bases etc.
It tries to login when you first start it up but when it can't will take you straight into the game. All you seem to lose is the leaderboard stuff (oh no!).

Witcher 3 is really good, I would recommend that.

I know what you mean about Fallout 4, I really liked New Vegas but couldn't get in to 4 at all.

Fallout 4 is awesome but will take a LOT of your time up..

Far cry 4 is not bad either.

Watchdogs is quite enjoyable.

Tomb raider, last of us, uncharted trilogy.

That's 5 games for single player to sink your time into.

I have fallout 4. I don't get on with it.

I thought the same things a few weeks back albeit with me playing on Xbone, playing offline is all well and good but if you mean truly offline how are you getting the patches for the games you're playing, I bought batman arkham city the other day popped the disk in when I got home to install took 40 mins or so, then I went to play and it wanted a 6.9gb patch !! another 30-40 minutes for that so almost an hour and a half later I could finally play a single player game, I dread to think how the game would have played without that huge patch

I mean I guess there was no patching for psone back in the day

Not FPS games but bloody excellent none the less. I am mostly a FPS player but mostly PC based.

Uncharted collection.
Tomb Raider (I LOVED this game. It truly is excellent).
Rocket League is a must buy for PS4. Easy to pick up, difficult to master.
MGS V is pretty compelling too, but is quite a time sponge.
