Hi, i've got an upcoming ARDS day at Silverstone, its the full day course not the half day one. I was just wanting to hear from other members that have completed this course and would like to know what to expect, what cars there is to drive, the helpfullness of the instructors, what to expect from the written test ect and anything else i may find helpful.

Thanks in advance.

If you do nothing else Make sure you know your flags!
If you get one wrong, you fail the written test!
If you watch the video you get with the Go Racing pack a couple of times - it has everything in you need for the written test.
Your driving test is likely to be in an Audi TT or a Series 2 Elise.

When I did my ARDS at silverstone two years ago it was on the Stowe circuit and the car was a Proton Satira (i think that is how you spell it)

I only did the half day course though.

Same as Craig stowe circuit in Proton Safira GTI.

Most of the written test is based on the video so make sure you know this inside out! They gave us the oppurtunity to watch the video again on the day, take it!! alot of people walked out or didn't pay attention, its worth it as it reminds you of bits you may have forgotten.

As said above learn those flags, all of them! You have to get them all right.

The driving, don't do anything silly. NO spins! instant fail. Also its not a text of driving at speed, more safety and car control. You do have to go quick, but not flat out. Think the instructors take a dim view of people trying to impress them with speed!

Also if you heel and toe very well then do it, if not then don't try it as if you cant do it and spin or go off into the grass or kitty litter...INSTANT fail!!

Just relax and take it easy, the instructors are great, really really helpful, they actually want you to pass not fail and will help you with any problems.

i only did a half day, i felt this was enough, but with a full day you'll be fine....good luck mate!
