Hi Does any one know what the rubber engine mounting parts for a 280i are from please only mine are looking a bit sad and need replacing, the drivers side looks like a standard ford pinto type round and about 50mm tall but my passenger side one looks a lot less in height same as the drivers side round but more like about 20-25mm tall, any advice appreciated

On mine they are Ford Cortina mk4 2.3 V6. Probably 2.0 OHC as well. May be shared with some US models, don't know.

They should not sag much - The original Ford fitments all had a slotted hole on the angled chassis mounts, so that the rubbers were compressed as they slid down under the engine weight.

I think, from discussions here, there are actually two different thicknesses of rubbers, and that may be your problem, as the wedge does not have the slotted holes. Another simple approach is to put a spacer in, there is enough spare thread to get about 1/4 inch spacer in. (Done this on some kits and transplants in the past)

If that photo is the right one (they sometimes use generic shots in web sites) then they look a LOT deeper than mine.

Um, I'll have to go and double check now.....

Now that a few minutes have gone by...

I remembered, probably wrong, but aren't the deeper ones Ford Transit as well ??

I see Tickover does indeed show different thicknesses.....

Use Volvo P1800 or 122 mounts on your 280i. Right size, sturdy and cheap.

I have a new pair of heavy duty Capri 3.0 mounts you can have if they are any good to you. I think they are 50mm deep.
