How often do you really put your foot hard down?

I can think of only once in the last 2 weeks that I have really put my foot to the floor, and that was in third! I know this time of year its difficult to do it in second and almost impossible to do it in first due to traction.

Even in the dry I don't think you will ever be able to floor it in a Cerb in the first couple of gears. Now putting my foot right down is a different matter, do that all the time, just have to slowly build up the crescendo!
Was nice and dry on Sunday and it was an excellent day for almost getting some real power down in second!
and third, fourth and fifth were just sublime!

Don't think I have ever had foot to the floor nor needed to.
Even when the 'gauntlet' has been down, both car's did the business without
full throttle as you have probably seen.
I'm a believer in progressive throttle as well rather than the 'stomp on it' approach.
As a side note, the back end on the 4.5 is less prone to snap out than my old 4.2
upon 'quicker' application.

Certainly not too often in this weather.
It is the only car I have owned where putting your foot all the way down has to be a concious decision rather than just part of normal driving.
Smoked my friend in his FQ300 the other day however hitting the change light in 3rd and 4th
.
The Cerbera is such a magic car because of the way you can just drive it 'at speed' most of the time and then like a supercar now and again.

The trouble is, when you do put your foot down its time to drop anchors within seconds, even with miles of clear road up ahead, warp factor 11 comes up in seconds and brakes are needed to keep you in the same county.
On the few occasions that I have put the pedal right down, Ive found that theres a 'hidden' inch of extra travel, anyone else find this?

I very often used to max out my cerbera albeit I used to change up about 1K before 'change up light'. A guy in my village (with a cerb with a straight cut gearbox) used to use the 'change up light' virtually 100% of the time! I had a lift once and never again.
I never had any problems , the one time I did have a tank slapper was in 3rd in a straight line! That was scarey! Think it was diesel on the road!?

You had a lift off, referring to the sudden weight shift(?) ... and what happened?

I had a lift once ! Not lift off!
Tank slapper - car suddenly lost traction and the back went left n right a few times and there was armco to the right! So could only lift off the gas (whilst emitting gas elsewhere) and hope that I didnt lose control.

You definitely should try it sometime in the right conditions otherwise you're missing out on one of the main reasons of having a Cerbera
. Honestly you might as well buy a slower car if you don't find out what it'll do

I did it once in 1st and broke a half shaft
Loads of times in 3rd 4th or 5th gear though just for the instant rush and noise plus there is never a too sudden increase in speed to cause problems, but not really hard down in low for full revs especially after the sticky throttle pedal I once had that liked to stay down for a second or two before coming back up after I had taken my foot off of it
Got that fixed pretty quickly

The Cerb is amazing, isnt it My V8S was a second slower to 60, so plenty fast(!) and I gave it large potatoes all the time. The Cerb is an entirely different beast, enjoyable for different reasons, but I just cant ever imagine becoming complacent, or putting my foot down all the time. There is so much power, and when it comes time to shift the same power is there again through the next gear, and the next, and the next
