Good Food Show

Self and daughter looking at going to the NEC for the Good Food Show in June.

Anyone any experience of these shows, worth going, comments anyone?

Worth a visit. Lots to see, and lots of rhings to try (not all free obviously)

It'll be busy and slightly underwhelming but what a nice thing to do with your daughter.

I enjoyed it as a pleasant and slightly boozy amble with some other corporate guests.

The live show is interesting if you can get seats near the front and you get someone decent - we got Michele Roux jnr - who was really good. But I have a lot of time for him anyway.

Expect lots of stands selling "miracle non-stick pans" and knives "you never need to sharpen". Normally a fun day out.

Thanks folks. As for live shows, seems we have a choice of Tom Kerridge or 2 Italian chefs who's names escapes at the moment. I'm for Kerridge myself (dunno why) but see what daughter thinks.

Have to say I'm looking forward to it, new experience, and all.

in addition to the deals on spurious gadgets mentioned above - there'll be plenty of distributors/agents with deals on household name branded goods: my memory is pretty crap & going back a couple of years, but seem to remember le crueset, anolon, meyer, tefal, global, henckel, kitchen aid, nutribullet appliances, knives, pans etc, plus a lot of smaller "artisan" places selling stuff like cheese boards, salad bowls, all manner of tableware, as well as produce - oils, sauces, cheeses, pickles. Take money & bags & enjoy!
