No not the song by Stevie Wonder but real (sorry fake) superstitions.

I just don't see the point in them, lots of people do the magpie thing, the back of ambulance thing and I just can't see the point. Years ago I smashed up an old mirror as it was being binned and I've not had 7 years bad luck.

There also seems to be a trend of posting pictures of dead people and pictures of babies with cancer on Facebook telling people to comment "AMEN" or they will get bad luck. WTF is that all about.

So do you believe or is it just OCD.

I suppose in the sense that it's the need to follow certain rituals to stop something bad happening to you, it is akin to OCD.

Of course superstitions are just nonsense.

Well. You said it yourself.

If you didn't post on Facebook, it wouldn't happen.

If you weren't on Facebook, it wouldn't happen.

Can you possibly see a link?

Back of the ambulance thing? What's that then?

I'm not superstitious, not religious, and don't believe in anything supernatural. If something without another explanation happens in front of me I may change my views but I'm quite a sceptical person.

My wife is reasonably sensible in most circumstances but ha some weird superstitions that she's eventually stopped telling me about because of the piss taking and questions I ask everytime one comes up.

Could be worse though, one of my friends is now training in Reiki and channeling energy.

The Facebook one is for 'like farming' and to collect huge amounts of personal data from users. Sometimes this can be used for social engineering purposes later.

Don't be stupid enough to click 'like'.

I saw a mate do it once, I think you have to cross your fingers until the ambulance is out of sight or until you can no longer hear the sirens.

And that's why he's really unlucky with securing senior management positions or winning the lottery every week.

QED.

One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for a girl,
Four for a boy,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret,
Never to be told.
Eight for a wish,
Nine for a kiss,
Ten for a bird,
You must not miss

If you see a magpie by itself you are meant to salute the magpie and ask how it's wife and family is.

One for sorrow, two for joy as quoted above - Based on the fact Magpies mate for life so are commonly seen in pairs. If you see one by itself it's bad luck! (Apparently).
