Mondeo mk3 radio problem

Can anyone help regarding a problem
With my radio I bought a 2001modeo ghia not long ago I didn't check the radio at the time but the problem I have is it won't find any stations it keeps
Searching but it won't locate a station
I have checked the back of the unit to
See if the Arial was plugged in it was
The model number is 6006 if it helps

In case you are just in a bad reception area, when mine is hunting for a preset station, if it takes a while then I hit the preset button a second time (while it's still hunting) and it forces a selection, even if it's still a bit "grainy".

I seem to remember that this radio seeks local stations first, then distant ones. Mine in my 2002 Mondeo (now with my daughter) stopped working on the tuner side quite early on. I replaced it with a single DIN Clarion head unit.

Thanks I think that is what I will have to do buy another I have tried to sort it out

Check you don't have RDS, TA (traffic announcement) or AF (alternative frequency) engaged.
