E46 Con-Rod Bearings

Hi Chaps,
I'm looking at a 2002 M3 which ticks all the boxes for me.
I understand that pre 2003 cars were subject to a recall for the conecting rod bearings - but I can't find any evidence of this being done in the history file.

I have the VIN - who can I check with to see whether the work was done on the car?

If you call BMW they will tell you if its had the big end shells recall and warranty work too

Theres a premium BMW hotline (0906) sorry dont have it on hand buy they will tell you each dealer vist the car has been to
