Recovering from bangs, bruises & bumps!
Discussion
Hello gents,
I have a question, perhaps best aimed at the more mature PHer rather than the fit young bucks we all used to be...!
I've recently (3 months ago) started back at my krav maga training. I did quite a lot of this in my early to mid 20s but now I'm fast approaching 40.
I'm picking up some pretty heavy/deep bruises and bangs during training. They don't bother me, all part of the fun, but I now seem to bruise much quicker and easier than I used to. Just aging I suppose but I'd like to know if there is anything I can do to speed up healing. I train weekly each Wednesday night for 2 hours.
Is there anything I can do to speed recovery? I used some arnica cream the other week and that seemed to do alright. Some people are suggesting ice and other stuff. All I really want to do is make sure they're healed in time for the following week's session.
This is the kind of thing on forearms. Also similar on inner thighs. I suspect they'll stop coming so frequently once I get used to the knocks again a bit like kickboxers' shins.
