I particularly enjoyed:

Sam: Nottingham UK: I am a serving police officer and Nottinghamshires roads would be a lot safer if Nottinghamshire police hadn't gotten rid of its traffic department several years ago, the only form of traffic enforcement is speed cameras, that are more about revenue collection. Road safety is not seen as a priority by senior officers anymore.

Speed cameras do not tackle dangerous and aggresive driving which far more dangerous, and are never used on country roads. The goverment is more interested in filling its pockets than saving lives!

Fair play that he mentioned that he is a serving officer.

The views on there are quite incredible. Good sensible stuff from trafpol/phers. I loved the ex Traffic chap who pointed out that most people speeding in villages were mums late on the school run - the very people campaigning for lower limits!

This just after some bat suggested manufacturers were at fault for making cars too powerful. That's like blaming Sabatier for making their kitchen knives too sharp! Reeedicyoulus.

Very very true...

The majority of speed complaints are from local residents...who are often the ones to be caught on way home from work, or rushing to work...

Only to then change their complaint from speed to something like "Where were you when my shed was broken into etc"..

reminds me of when I got stopped last Summer on the Bike

Co. Durham were having a "Educating Chat" type of day, where they'd 'let you know they were around'.

We got talking about a local village where the residents were complaining about "Evil bikers speeding through our village".

They mounted a speed trap one day. In the fist morning, they got 35 people for exceeding the 30mph limit.

3 bikers.

32 cars. 18 of which were residents who were doing the complaining......

Our parish council were making lots of noise a while ago about speed through the village centre, so they had the local BiB out with a radar gun, guess who got caught?

Had to laugh at this one....

woman who wants performance cars banned said:
Many so called accidents are caused by speed and even if they get to court the fact that someone was killed is very often ignored and careless driving with a poultry fine are the outcome.

Up before the "Beak" to be fined two chickens and a turkey for eggsessive speed
