What on earth was he complaining about? She was nowhere near him!
If I was worried about cars turning left that far in front of me, I certainly wouldn't be able to commute into London. I'd either burst a blood vessel, or I'd spend so long following people into carparks to remonstrate with them that I'd be sacked for not turning up!!!

I can't see that she did anything wrong. Judging by her responses to his t
ttery she was fully aware of the distances, closing speed and his speed. What a complete and utter thunder , no wonder motorists want to run us into the gutter with numptys like him running around going all Jessica Fletcher on people.

There was a five second gap between the car completing the turn and him getting to the same point. Regardless of lens distortion and image compression, the timer in the corner doesn't lie.
Yes, it'd have been 'nice' for her to wait behind, but no more than that. I'm frequently left shaking my head and thinking "cheers fella! you could have waited" when cars pass me and swing left with half that gap, but I can think of only one recent instance where I felt in any real danger. That was an XC90 cutting across me while I was passing the mouth of the junction, he having to use the 'wrong' side of the road to get around. And he was literally 30 seconds from home too!
Sorry, but this video is a complete non-incident I'm afraid, and wow! Doesn't he sound like a really annoying person. I found it hard to listen to him waffling on and I had the benefit of a 'mute' button.
On the other hand, the woman who 'overtook' me whilst I was turning left, and she turning right across my traffic lane? If I'd caught up to her I was all set to feed her her own arms, soggy end first. Now THAT was a close one. Her front nearside wheel was (quite literally) inches from my front wheel. She'd blindly followed a bin lorry (who'd had plenty of time, TBF) and a VW Transporter van (who'd cut it a little fine, but no real danger) across and I don't think she saw me even when I was alongside her passenger side window. If I hadn't been leaned over to make the turn, I'd have given the car a smack to wake her up, but I couldn't reach. I was lucky the turn was straight into an uphill 'kick', so that I was carrying less speed and needing a lot less of the lane than I might have done on a flat or downhill turn...

But I don't have a helmet-cam so I can't post video on Youtube, and I end up just replaying such idiocy back in my head, trying to work out if there's anything I can learn from it.

Thats never been a great junction and I'm not sure that the filter lane has made it any safer - i'm frequently wincing at near misses from cars turning right out of the junction to head towards Aldershot. I try to avoid cycling the Forresters Road as its got a couple of nasty bends on and cars are just gagging to speed up after leaving Fleet or waiting at the aforementioned junction (although you'll see from my C2C thread that i'm a bit of a fanny who doesn't like busy roads https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.2709488,-0.80293...

I think there are as many cyclists as motorists that just need to chill the fk out.
I didn't watch much past the initial manoeuvre, but the only potential danger looked be of her getting too close to the traffic island. Certainly not to the cyclist.
As others have said if I took umbrage with a 'close' call like that, I'd spend my entire commute arguing.
