should they have stuck to manual? what will this do to the image?
shame to hear as you would have hoped it would be bullet proof at that special level of focus.
A manual would have been lovely, a choice of PDK or Manual would be even better!shame to hear as you would have hoped it would be bullet proof at that special level of focus.
I don't think the image will be affected at all and the values will stay in the stratosphere for the foreseeable future IMO
I dropped my car off for its new gearbox today. The recall campaign is ref WF99 covering PDK replacement for both 991 GT3 and GT3RS. The campaign is VIN specific for MY16 cars and mine is the only car (Nov 15 delivery ) recalled at my dealer with cars before and after not being on the list
The situation is described as follows:
There is a possibility that a gear synchronisation component in the PDK transmission does not comply with the specified dimensions on the affected vehicles. This can result in noises after a gear change whilst driving. Continued use of the vehicle can cause the PDK transmission to switch to the reduced driving programme and a corresponding warning will be displayed in the instrument cluster.

Thanks - really strange its VIN specific if it has that description - either way doesn't sound like its a massive deal - how long do they need the car for ? when did you find out ?The situation is described as follows:

Must just be batch of PDK boxes where they've identified a potentially out of tolerance component. Had a call Tuesday, parts had already been ordered so took it down end of today and being done tomorrow. The worksheet quoted 5.23 hours labour so pick up tomorrow afternoon. It was coated in grime/salt so at least I get it washed too Cheers

Won't do one iota of damage to the image. Every model has had its issues over the years. These cars are the outer envelope of technology and stress engineering. You're always going to get issues. Comes with the territory. shame to hear as you would have hoped it would be bullet proof at that special level of focus.

Sounds like a bit of a non issue - a super cautious approach , just in case ? I think it's good that they get on the front foot of potential issues
