Thinking of selling the Tam! Am I mad?
Discussion
I will try to word this slightly differently because my last post was removed.
I'm thinking of selling the Tam. The wife really wants a couple of extra seats so we can (family of 4) use it at the weekends more. It's my 2nd car. I'm thinking Porsche 911 4S convertible with it's 2 + 2 layout. I know it's probably not as exciting but maybe more usable? Maybe not as fast but easier to drive quickly? Has any one done a similar swap and regretted it? Maybe I'm asking in the wrong place. I'm not dead set on getting rid yet - I wanted a Tamora for ages after borrowing one for my wedding car but not sure if I've scratched that itch. The throttle bodies have just been removed and are having the bearing mod so I've not driven it yet this year. Maybe I'll drive it once and forget this silly idea.
What are the values of Tamora's like at the moment? Do you think they will continue to go up. I bought mine a few years ago and they've definitely increased a bit.
Have I lost the plot?

Whitenoise - I've got both a Tamora and 911 C4S Convertible because I just couldn't let 'Trevor' go! I thought I'd probably get £20k for it eventually - because they're niche and aren't selling very quickly - so decided to keep it.

Do you really need to sell the Tamora? You will become invisible in the 911 - no one takes a second look at them - so you may regret getting rid of it if you like to turn a few heads in the Tamora.

You're right, the 911 is MUCH SLOWER but is a much nicer drive and feels safer with the 4wd. Unlike the Tamora, it's also a very good daily drive but whilst the back seats may take 2 (very small/young) kids I can't see it taking baby seats or booster cushions so I'm not convinced a 911 will meet your family needs (sorry!).

Just add an inexpensive 4 seater convertible for those pub trips. Leave the Tam where it is.
Ignore bucket loads of power - you won't need them for the odd trip to the pub.
A Saab convertible with it's fun trick electric roof and totally disappearing windows and B pillars kept my grandchildren highly amused when I had it as a loan car. It was worth about 4 grand when I enquired. I would imagine your Tamora insurer will add it or a similar car as a low mileage extra car for less than £300 a year.

The Tamora is of a kind only very few modern cars do match. About 350 of them have ever been build. It's powerfull, it's a roadster, it's a real sportscar of a unique design and not everybody's darling. IMO you cannot get another car what is fun like a Tamora for twice the money.
I'm sorry but - yes, I think you are mad.
Cheers
