Lawks!
Have they suddenly rocketed in price or is my memory playing tricks?
Pretty sure I paid £1,800-ish for my SMPO about five or six years ago, sold it for similar a couple of years later.
I quite fancy another similar but was surprised to find what appears to be the identical watch has a RRP of £3,950!

Is your memory playing tricks about how long ago it was?

My SMPO had an RRP of £3800 in 2012 when I bought it, and four years later it is £3950 - as you quote. Certainly looks a pretty stable price since 2012.

Or maybe there was a significant update (when was the 8500 movement introduced?) between your purchase and mine?

bloody good deal it was too wink

As I remember the range changed in 2011/2012 internally and with ceramic bezel and they dumped a massive hike on the price to go with it.

Ah, that would be it then - the ceramic bezel was being hyped up when I bought in 2012.

Glad you're still enjoying it.

Your rental period must be about up. You'll be giving it back soon, eh?
