Fellow horophiles.

I have the chance to swap my Sub Date ceramic for this.

Thoughts? I do like it a lot.

That is a beautiful watch!

For me, the decision would be based around what I wanted, how I wore the watch and always a bit of comparative value.

My SD (a late 16600) has a very hard life as I wear it for everything as:

1 I know all bits are replaceable (new case decimates value but I bought it to wear so not a consideration) and
2 I have “lesser,” dress watches (old Omega, etc) for other occasions

Were it me, if I had a ceramic Sub, I wouldn’t make the change, given how I use the watch.

That said, I’m not au fait with the MB’s horology (Rolexes are quite simple beasts, all told) and it’s not my decision; I merely thought I would try and explain how I would make the decision.

I should also caveat this by stating my watch-buying logic is slightly flawed as, being a bit of a hoarder, I have ended up with a few watches (which isn’t necessarily the right answer) as I can always think of reasons not to sell / swap and buy another instead

I use the Sub every day (only wtach) but I have an office job and remove it for DIY etc.

I reckon it will be fairly robust.

Sub is a lovely thing and it's held its value but I really want a complications piece. I think it's time to move on.....!!

Did the deed. Getting it Tuesday. It's the Automatic GMT with dual time, chronograph and night/day indicator for the GMT reading. List £8k.

Will post some photos when it comes.

Brilliant! Proper complications, too.

Enjoy it...and tell us all about it!

Attractive watch. Are they in house movements or ETA?

Very nice indeed OP, you will be very pleased. I had a look at one in the flesh a couple of years ago when I bought my Montblanc Sport Chronograph.

To answer the Beast of Codfin - the Nicolas Rieussec watch has the Montblanc manufactured Calibre MB R200 movement.

Cheers - coming Wednesday (or perhaps tomorrow if the dealer trusts me enough to cross parcels - I've dealt with him before).

Pictures to follow once the happy day comes!!

Thanks to all for the advice.

Sadly my Sub didn't pass muster when it arrived due a worn self winder bearing so dealer sent it back.

Ended up doing a deal with DomH and now have a GMT Batman and some beaters.
