Hinges, whos done what

I will be doing away with my front/slam panel area to fit other goodies in its place, but will have bar running across to mount some kind of hinge/pin/latch etc

Looking for suggestions, electromagnet/solenoid, rear mount hinges, anything no matter how different

Need some out the box thinkers

I like the Saab style, where the bonnet overhangs the grille; good for engine access

How about going to a full flip front E-Type or Triumph Spitfire/GT6 style.

Add quick release hinges for complete removal of the front end to give unparalleled engine access.

It's quite a bit of work but it's what the car should have had originally in my opinion.

NickOrangeTVR has 4 posts and racing pins holding his bonnet down. Easier to take on and off with two people though.

It would be a great look / facility - especially if it were removable - but probably not possible wit the servos and reservoirs living inside the area between the inner and outer wings...

erm I do know someone with a mould for a 1 piece chimaera front end :-)

complete with mk3 style lights and front splitter.... same person has a mould to make light mk2 bonnets lol

the lightweight racing one weighs less than the original bonnet for the whole front end. you'd probably want it a heavier layup for a road car but would still loose a big chunk of weight.

and make access easier..

you need to make a frame to the rad as that is part of the original body that gets cut off.
