I would like my indicators on my S to be more audible but all the cheap 12v buzzers I've tried sound, well, like cheap 12v buzzers!

The modern JLR cars I drive have a very traditional sounding indicator warning but it is obviously electronically produced these days, it isn't the old bi-metallic switch clicking on and off.

So, any ideas where I could get such a "sound effect" or any of you guys into electroniccy things and could make me one in exchange for vast amounts of money?

That is a nice little device, I could do with one on my HONDA, the indicators and warning light are out of my line of sight and I have left them on many a time.
On my S I have moved the indicator warning light to between the speedo and rev counter and I am much more aware of it now. The normal position of the warning light on the S1 is quite useless!

Being a bit Mutt & Jeff I had the same problem, so I fitted two extra bright LEDs on top of the Steering wheel surround. These were fine during the day but reflected too brightly in the windscreen at night. So I fitted another two standard LEDs in the front of the surround and a switch to go from one to the other. Photo and circuit sketch attached. It is hard to ignore these flashing away in front of you.. [url]

But Maurice, we haven't got Caterham Westfield Lotus 7s ! ( Although it may just work on AutoAndy's Norfolk stripey S3.)

Do they do one for a normal S?

@ £24 I'd like to hear one first, lot of money if its the same as wiring in a 2 quid buzzer!

Chris's link looks interesting, not exactly what I'm after but would do the trick although when I said "vast amounts of money" I didn't mean quite that much wink

That is a nice idea Don, never thought of tiny LED's placed there.
Mind you the diagram did remind me a bit of homework from college many years ago (pre LED I must admit!)

scribbled in the back of the "bible" for any future owner. (I hate finding wires I can't identify, which seems to happen too often on my car).
But you are right it is a bit 5th form.

TBH I find that the more 'organic' lines of a sketch like Don's are easier to follow than straight ruled lines which can tend to merge one into the other when you try to trace them along the page. Or perhaps that's just me? My brain seems to deal with curves a lot better!

Believe me Don, it wasnt the 'quality' of ths sketch, more elegant than many of mine....it was memories of trying to drum into my mind which component to connect to which that took me back to college......fortunately I was mainly on the mechanical side, some other poor bugger had to wire the powerstation panels!!!

I have only just come back to my laptop since yesterday. Please be assured, Richard, it never occurred to me as anything but a joke. No offence was taken and hence my attempt at humour in my reply.
Best regards
Don
