M3/M4 Competition Package details
Discussion
CP is £3000 for M3 and M4 Coupe, and £2200 for M4 Convertible
Additional equipment:
20" bling wheels
M Sports Exhaust
Black exterior trim bits
Different dampers, springs and suspension/drive settings
Seats with bits cut out with bling seat belts (not M4 Convertible)
More power (19hp)
Standard Advanced BMW sound system (HK upgrade £245 instead of £675)
Info from BMW GB Product Marketing:
The exhaust system on competition package M3 and M4 models is based on the standard M3/4 exhaust, with a modified rear muffler and exhaust flap management. This also includes a new engine start mode for the exhaust, to give additional acoustics. The aftersales M Performance exhaust system is different again, and also louder than the competition package system. The idea of the competition package exhaust modifications is to give a stronger character to the engine sound that is unique to the competition package models, whilst also being suitable for everyday use and not too loud for customers.
I’m afraid we don’t have specific weights for the wheels readily available, however with all changes to competition package models taken into account (suspension, wheels, seats etc.) there is minimal overall weight differences between standard and competition M3 & M4 models. In summary these are:
M3 – Manual comp model is 15kg heavier, the DCT versions are identical.
M4 Coupé – Manual comp model is 18kg heavier DCT version is 3kg heavier.
M4 Convertible – Manual comp model is 15kg heavier, DCT versions are identical.

Have my CP m4 lined up for end of March... Currently have an F80 m3.... Going to take advantage of a pre registered m4 due end of March... Although I'd probably prefer an m3 cp ... My previous car was an m4, so will be interested to see what the differences are...
Thoughts on m4 vs m3 cp?

So the handling is worse on wet bumpy roads, according to Autoexpress??
I've no idea what these journalists are doing on these wet bumpy roads, but I've just driven across 15 miles of them 1000ft feet up, on very bumpy and rutted b roads lashing with rain at 1.5c and the car is great, not a CP but a standard LCI M3. Wills2 said:
