An E46 (2005) M3, which Hexagon say is "....a truly rare find for the BMW collector".

Ok, so it's only done 2000 miles, but 50k???? Really??? I think these were only about £41k new and it's hardly a rare classic!!! Each to their own, but given the choice of spending £50k on an 11 year old E46 M3, against a brand new, fully loaded M2, or a year old F80 M3, I know where I'd put my money!

I know, I should accept Hexagon's pricing policy and just let it go!!!!

you'll also find the M2 becomes less rare as BMW are building lots of them, but now the e46 is long since mass produced and hand built normally aspirated engines are no more, you'll find the values creeping up. and this one is white (not wrapped, but a factory painted car) so super rare.

the other point is, at £50K it might not de-value, where the M2 will most certainly.

Look at the value of 1.5 year old £67K M4's.....now at Low £40k's thats a lot of money to lose in such a small timescale.

Hexagon wont need to rush to sell it, they'll leave it in the showroom looking pretty, future classic and all that.

I think it might be longer than two years and I am sure it started at £39,995?

Alpine White on an E46 M3 is rare, but not £50k rare!

Hexagon bought the car for about £20k, give or take, some 4 years ago or so. It then rose to £39k and now £49k. Good luck to them.

I saw the car in May 2013 when I purchased my CSL from them. At the time was £39995. Was immaculate but is very pricey!

They sure do price optimistically. They bought my CSL off me and instantly put it for sale for £10k more than I'd accepted, felt a right fool too but it's all part of the game. They shoot the cars in their flash studio to up sell them and they're not bothered if they have stock for years either so this will sit until it sells.

When was that? Maybe I have your old one?! Was pricey at the time, but now seems cheap!

I know! They've gone one way since I sold it but on the flip side so has the house we bought with the funds so swings and roundabouts.

I sold mine in July 2013. I'll dig some pics out of it as I've forgotten the reg, she was a minter though, I had the CSL cup BBK front and back on pre sale but stripped them off before they took it.

Bought ours a couple of months before that so must have been different. Think I remember yours though.

Factory white is pretty special indeed, but unless it's been properly prepared to sit there in storage effectively, it's not good having it not accrue miles.

I wonder, if someone walked in and throw down 35k in cash to take it away, would they take it? Probably not if it has already been there for four years.

Any car with such a low mileage and price premium is rarely a good buy IMO.
I mean, what are you going to do with it? If it's used to any degree then you're talking new car levels of depreciation. Without a new car warranty. If it just stays in the garage in order to retain as much value as possible, then what's the point?

Why would anyone buy this over a CSL?

The type of people they are aiming the sale of this at aren't the type of people that are in the market for a comparable new or nearly new car.......you've missed the point entirely rolleyes

The people they are aiming this at are the investment speculators/collectors, not someone that will buy it to drive it.

a high percentage of cars are SOR so it doesn't matter how long they sit in the showroom providing there is the room, in a rising market anyway...
