Am slowly working through my list of cars that i need to own before I die and the latest decision was Aston Martin V8 Vantage or Porsche 911. Ive been following this forum for some time and have found it really helpful in getting to know the cars the variants and what they are like to live with, so a big thanks to all you regular contributors, and I finally bought a gen 2 997 C2S a couple of weeks ago.

Its also worth mentioning that i got the car from RSJ Sports Cars (who have also been mentioned regularly here) who made the process really easy and prepared the car to a great standard, and have also followed up to make sure i was happy as i live some distance away from them. i really would have no hesitation in recommending them for those of you considering a purchase and are new to Porsche.

picture below please excuse my posting skills... if you click on it, should be ok. Macadamia with terracotta interior, not everyones bag but i like unusual, and it gets lots of attention. Having driven it for a couple of weeks, i now understand what all the fuss is about.

Great looking machine, congratulations. I nearly traded my old 997.1 for a 997.2 with RSJ last year, but pulled out as I ended up going with a private sale GTS. Did you go pdk or manual?

Pdk, I thought I preferred manual but having driven a couple of PDKs I would have been happy with either or...

That looks lovely, I'm jealous!.. Macadamia is my favourite colour.. I have a strange hankering for a brown Porsche (Steve Mcqueen Style.. but in a 997). I'll be on the lookout for one next year when my Golf goes back.

When I was a kid, growing up in the mid 70s, our next door neighbour had two 911s in succession, the second of which was in a very similar colour. Looks absolutely great.

Thanks for posting the bigger pic...it's one of those colour combos that doesn't sound great when you describe it but when you see it , it really works
