Align Balance Charger - No powers (RC Helicopter)

Good evening,
Wondering if anyone can give me an assistance with an Align balance charger that I am experiencing issues with.
My Align Trex 450 has spent most of the winter in storage, however today I got it out and tried to charge the battery.
The plug and lead definitely have power as the light comes out on the lead box, however when plugged into the balance charger, it seems to cut the power. The light goes off and there seems to be a very faint but high pitched electric noise.
This is with no lipo battery plugged in.
Any help would be much appreciated.
