Black Sealant for headlamp fairings
Discussion
I’ve never used Sikaflex and so cant comment on that, but I do use plain old B&Q stuff and never had any problems with it, cheap and easy to get hold off. Problem is you must make sure joints are clean, real clean with no solvent residue.
I also use a Silicon Eater which removes the old stuff and doesn’t damage the paint, though there are different brands of this stuff so a test would be advised. It’s a lot better and less time consuming than a plastic scrapper but I don’t know if this works on Sikaflex.
However I’ve never actually used it for the light pods, though the spoiler on my Celica is held on with the stuff since the bolts pulled through the hatch.
Cheers,
Simon.
