Media Blasting and powder coating the old damaged ones is certainly an option Neil however sill plates etc should really be the last thing to go on unless you have decided the interior is finished that powder coating will chip easily especially if you plan on finishing off the interior of the car
Mind you if you had reversed them ie Drivers on passenger side etc the Damage from the dropping door would have been nearly hidden once the Door was fitted and then no one would have noticed

That's a very small gearstick tunnel cutout there. Mine and most I've seen are well overcut to accommodate any gearbox or stick in the general vicinity of somewhere beneath the car.
