I had a few hours at the PEC experiencing the 991.2 and i have to say I was really impressed. In fact I'm going to order one. But which one? I'm a 2wd man, but can decide on the S or non-S, pdk or manual. I'm tempted to go manual-S, sports suspension and not much else.

Anyone else had a go in one yet?

There is a thread where a few of us shared our experiences of test driving the new car. You'll get some more detailed info in there. My own take is that it's a good car - with the proviso that it's targeted at a broader (and less focused) market than the previous cars. I have played around on the configurator though, and I keep adding a hell of a lot more than what you've described.

Have a read.

Have you had a go in a C S, 991, PDK and Sports Chrono pack with flappy paddles?

Thanks for this. Yes, I had a go in the S and non-S with PDK. I can't remember whether is had Sports Chrono or not. The PEC is very small to test something like a 991 round, but I remember enjoying the C2 Manual the most. I'll probably go for the S. Not sure about the PDCC and RWS though. I want simple.

Yes, had a 991.2 C2S PDK for a few days. It had standard PASM suspension, rear wheel steering and sports exhaust. I loved it..! I have just sold a 991 GTS PDK, and though it was a big step up in many areas. I love the engine performance, with massive torque from low down the rev range. It makes lots of different noises all the way up the rev range, and revs willingly. I must admit, the 3.8 NA engine sounds fractionally better at the top end but just doesn't have the performance of the new engine. The RWS makes the car feel much more agile. I was quite surprised how much difference it made - I've had a 991 GT3, so I knew what to expect, but it did feel more agile than the 991 GTS.

I'd like to try the car with -20mm Sports PASM to see how it compares. With standard PASM, I found the standard setting too soft, with too much body movement, so left it in sport all the time.

I'd definitely order the 2WD one, the car now feels quite lively at the back end, and the 4WD car I would imagine will be too stable.

I haven't driven the non S, so cant comment....but I'll be ordering an S...I know if I don't I'd just always wish I had..!
