3.2 Carrera Clubsport Prices
Discussion
Totally depends on condition mileage... 53 rhd UK cars..52 in white with red wheels & Carrera CS graphics...1 x Red one with white wheels graphics.
If your friend is serious about one, then contact Mike Chadwick (register secretary) at PCGB.
The whereabouts and life story of most of the cars is known and documented.
For a reasonable say 80+k mile car I would think you would have to pay around 22k pounds....25k pounds will buy a good original better car.....quite a few of the low mileage immaculate cars go for nearer 30k pounds.....
Mr C's car with 4k miles from new will be worth more....if he ever sold it.
Considering the recent hike in values of '70's lightweight 911, these may not be such a bad investment ???

Hi there...just thought I might drop in an update you all.
Since Jan, I took over from Mike on the Club SPort register sec for PCGB, and have been "asst" for the past few years.
I maintained the register, derived datasheets and got to know heaps of owners for the CS.
I also got to know the prices for cars etc, so would say that they vary - but not my too much
Lowest price I have seen ? 22.5K
Highest - IRO - £35K+... for someone purchasing 2nd CS !
Investment ? Hm.... well, don't take my work for it.

I have a Glasses Guide review of "Classic car values" as a Datasheet, so if you need more information on the CS, then please drop me a PM & I'll answer quickly

"...Steve, what about the lhd track biased car that Paul Stephens sold last year for around the £13k mark ?""
Well, I was talking RHD... I have personally witnessed only certain RHD's pricing and most LHD cars are outside the register
Do you have any more details of the car ?
KR's

Ruby- was that lefty CS in black?
Yes the cheap CS I refered to was RHD, or you could have bought the 'ring spanked one that Gordon Wingrove had. He had it repaired very well & OPC spray jobs etc are not cheap! but the purchace price was indeed very inexpensive & it could have been back on the road in agood rather than as good as new condition for a lot lot less.

Ruby- indeed the 3 or so issues of 911 & P/W with its articles of the complete referb from start to finish defo made no secret of it either.
I had a chance to buy that car for feck all dosh- it was low miles & very clean pre-crash & on the surface all that was wrong was a dented rear wing & dented front wing, but for some reason a certain Mr Sadler wasnt too keen on me buying it off him & simply having the chassis legs pulled into shape, bunging in a headlight & tailight & just driving it as was
the idea of a CS for well under sub £10k you can imagine appealed somewhat

Porker post arrived this morning and there is a nice 46k miles CS for sale up at 32.5k pounds.
I hope the seller gets it. It does make a comparable 3.2 Carrera Sport look attractive at no more than 20k pounds for the best example.
They seem to be quite the collector piece at the moment, a shame in some respects as I have great memories of the car that I earnt my Nordschlieffe wings with, so much better than just polishing the thing.

We live and learn, and it is indeed true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder...I learned today of one exisiting CS owner who has JUST parted with a sum well over £40K for a very low mileage 2nd car.
Even my jaw hit the ground.
Anyhow, I am learning of a desire for LHD CS's - here and also overseas. In fact, On the register we do have some very keen people from many parts of europe, and it is interesting to compare pricing.
One metric, is the CS:3.2 price ratio. In the USA, the ratio hovers around 1.25-1.35 and some a little higher.
In the opinions of the learned readers on this site, what is the "correct" ratio ?
Is it even valid ?
Thoughts most welcome

Difficult to say Steve, like any market a mark to market valuation is only a price at a time and could be anywhere the next morning! What I am trying to say is that as soon as you work out the ratio, as the sample of cars is so small the next sale will distort it.
I do recall that when I started looking in late '99 and purchased in Feb 2000 the CS was worth about 4-5k pounds more than the equivalent Carrera Sport. That was close to be set in stone...
Not quite to the point of despair, but it does disappoint me that the purchase of 2nd low mileage cars are going through at higher prices. I doubt these cars will be driven as they should be and the CS just becomes a commodity. So the ratio becomes a variable, surely?
As I mentioned I have a huge affection for the car and great memories of special drives in it....I admit polishing it with Zymol and garaging it, but they were not the highlights of ownership as some now seem to think is now the norm.
I have since moved on to a 993 RS which is used on road & track and shouldn't fare too bad in the depreciation (?) stakes.
