There is an Italian near me which is highly rated. I tried it and it was crap. Way too much cheese to be an Italian pizza! The best pizza I had was at an Italian run restaurant in Toulouse an Italian friend took me to. It tasted really fresh with some nice basil oil on it. I wish I could get something like that here.

On a recent visit to Rome I discovered that the Italian cities had their own style of pizzas, with varying degrees of thickness and toppings. The one I am drawn to is the Roman style, very thin and crispy and sparsely topped.

An authentic pizza is what I need to try. I went to Italy twice last summer for work but didn't get a chance to try. Fat oaf I work with was telling me the best pizza he ever had had burgers and kebab meat on it so I don't think I had much chance of convincing him Italian pizza is good.

It has to be either Pepperoni's Tavern or Ray's PIzza, both great pizza places.

I don't really like the PIzza Hut and Dominos Pizza as much for some reason, I prefer it more home made type . YUM!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I am from NY and a resume writer and more over a foodie too .. Love to have those, all the time longing for it lolz! biggrin

A bit far away from most of you, but: http://www.vacanza.com.au/gallery/bronte-gallery/

Simple pizzas with a minimal amount of toppings, if I call on a non-Friday/Saturday it will usually be ready to pick up in 10-15 minutes, perfect!

Pizza Pilgrims, without a doubt. Rocco in South Ken do a great pizza.

Girlfriend is trying FrancoManco's on Sunday, which is supposed to be good.

In Cambridge, the "Botham" pizza at the Salisbury Arms takes some beating.

Francos is my favourite, use the Chiswick place regularly.

Can be hit or miss depending on branch - the Battersea one was very good, but the one at Westfield Stratford was way off..

For takeaway/delivery where we are, Firezza takes some beating for the traditional oven-fired pizza.

Think she's going to the South Ken one, hopefully it's nice as her expectations are high!

I really don't see that one pizza can be SO much better than another. They're very simple things...

Franco was alright, nothing groundbreaking, at least its cheap, as it should be for what is a very basic food.

I had a bad experience there once, think I prefer The Band.
