I'm sure this has been done to death, but wow what's happening with car prices! I had a TVR a while ago, sold it for a Noble, which I sold for a Porker! Everything has doubled in price in the last 4 years it seems, except the Porker I had ha ha..
I'm now wanting to get back onto the TVR ownership, and wanted a T350, but they seem a lot more than when I looked a while back.
Have they gone up steadily in price or has it been a burst in the last year or something. I had about 20k to spend. I guess if I sell my children I might have 25k, but doesn't seem there's much about even for that. Do you think prices are carrying on up or has it been a bit up and down and I might have a chance if I wait a while?

Been a long time since I posted on PH be good to be back in the club wink

They've been steadily climbing for the past 4-5yrs, with the past 18 months seeing a slight extra boost. Gut feel says that the days of sub £30k T350s are numbered and certainly you'll struggle to find one that doesn't need a bit of tlc for £25k. I doubt they'll come back down at all!

Browsing the classified, if you can stretch to it then the grey one just sub £30k with a recent str8six rebuild looks decent value in the current market.

Out of interest, what was the porker and what's bringing you back now?

I bought a 911 C4s (997) bought it at a good price, but then the price of the 997s crashed through the floor and I lost a lot! Interestingly looking at the Porkers now, the 996 isn't much cheaper than the 997s!
Frustratingly, before buying the 911, I was offered a mint Ferrari 355 (for 40k) I didn't buy it cause it was in blue and a bit more than I had to spend at the time, I see now they are fetching 6 figures!!! That makes me feel physically sick now ha ha...
I might need to consider how much it will cost to run the t350, I saw a couple for 30k and they did look amazing, I just don't know if I've got enough other toys to sell to raise the capital and still have money to pay for fuel smile
Thanks tho, I'll check a few more out.

Oh to answer what's bringing me back... I had a spate of great cars, then decided I should be sensible and "grow up" so bought a Jag XF (hated it! Just too sensible and smooth) so sold that after 6 months and been driving a Full Fat Range since... Now I'm thinking I don't need the 4x4 and who needs to grow up anyhow, so fancy going back to a TVR!

Average asking price for T350s on PH has gone up by about £1000 a year for the last 8 years.

seems at the moment there is nothing in the 20K range. Cheapest car i have heard of in the last time had been a T350 with shot engine for around 18K.
when the seasons is comming for sure something will turn up thats needs a little bit of "TLC" biggrin

I sold my Giallo 355 spider 4 years ago for £32k. It was mint condition and the perfect spec (other than not being red, but I always wanted a yellow one!) but I was offered a GT3 at a good price and I wasn't losing money on the Ferrari.
The new owner has just sold it for £125k!
The GT3 I sold a year later for a building project, also for £32k. That is now £80-100k!
The beauty of hindsight!

Thank you Gilbo, I feel a bit better now. I'm going to print off your mail and look at it when I'm feeling down about that 355 I didn't buy ha ha....
