I am going to get a secondhand sigma 18-50 2.8 as a upgrade for my Canon.

Only thing is I am trying to figure out how I can tell which models have the OS feature as few of the ads I have seen state they don't.

Wondered if there was a part of the title or name of the lens that would specify or indicate it?

There's a 17-50 f2.8 which has OS but I don't believe the 18-50 f2.8 does (there's a 18-50mm F2.8-4.5 which does have OS)

Confusing! wobble

The 18-50 F2.8 is quite an old lens. I don't think there ever was a stabilised version.

They're a cracking lens when they work properly, but I've had two, and both had focusing shifting issues that no one seemed to be able to resolve. I gave up in the end and got rid. Make sure you check it over thoroughly before putting any money down on one.

That will be the one I am looking at. The 17-50! No wonder I couldn't find it with it. I was also looking at the sigma 18-35 1.8 but can't quite afford that now so must have just gotten used to typing that in.

Cheers

I had that lens a while back - nice bit of kit and relatively inexpensive thumbup
