I came across the Captains of Crush grippers online a few weeks ago, when looking for a gripper more challenging than the Everlast one I already have. The appear to be the best standard in grip training, so purchased their rather expensive (£23) gripper (No.2)

I couldn't close it at first, but have been working on negatives and eventually I could get one rep out.

I would recommend to anyone who wants to increase grip to try one of these. I realise the crushing grip is of little use a lot of the time, but it's only a little fun, right?

Any other strong hand shakers on PH?

If you do get hooked on grip training, have a look at http://www.davidhorne-gripmaster.com/

David Horne would rep out CoC 2's like Everlast grippers.

I used to be able to grip and squeeze 15 stone out of a set of bathroom scales. Does that count?
See what you strong men can do.

I used to do a lot of grip training, used Heavy grips instead of CoC's. Also sledge hammer levering and Nail bending- could bend a 6" nail in half.

Not worked specifically on it for ages, but my grip is still solid, can pick up and walk with 150kg a hand, maybe a bit more now.

I bought a load of stuff direct from iron mind 20 years ago ...the shock wasnt from using the stuff but paying all the extra charges and taxes from Customs more than the whole retail price If I recall smile

Bought a 2.5 years ago and spent a few months working on both hands. Use it sporadically but can close it no problem, but not held closed for as long now.

Do you use grip strength when you are working? That's very strong. Scaffolders and farmers tend to have ridiculously strong tendons.

And the same question. I don't often try CoC's but my crushing strength is poor.

No grip stuff at work, I sit at a desk most of the time...

Grew up on a farm, used to do a lot of rock climbing too- now do a lot of strength training, so have always had a lot of grip related stuff going on. Here's a video of the 150kg/hand - https://www.instagram.com/p/BAytEiUrq7Z/?

That's really impressive. That's a lot of strain on pretty much every part of your body!
