Smash burger is a US burger chain whose 'gimmick' is that every burger starts out as a meat sphere then gets smashed down flat.

I have spoke about it being my favourite way of cooking homemade burgers, on here, and a few people have tried it and liked the outcome. Although when I last visited their restaurant they had a massive machine doing the smashing.

I have had these burgers in the USA and they are lovely juicy burgers, very similar to five guys.

I read the thread title and thought this was going to be about a new type of vegetarian burger advertised by metallic aliens!

Smash burger? Place minced meat "ball" between two sheets of cling film on a table, and bash it with a catering-sized tin of tomatoes. wink

They're pretty good, about on par with Five Guys, maybe a little better.

Nice to see them coming over here.

I'd like to see In N Out coming over here too. Both far better than the standard stuff we get.

Considering a meat patty is such a simple thing to cook it's amazing how bad they can be. Same for steaks.
