I just checked my rating and was a little disappointed to get 4/5 and a score of only 606.

I have an Amex Platinum card, Lloyds bank credit card, car with BMW on pcp and have NEVER missed a payment on any of them. Mrs BC and I although not married are both on the voters list.

I really thought my score would be excellent - or is this just a ruse by Noddle to get people to sign up for its improve credit rating service?

Also looked at other credit agencies but they seem to want me to pay £15 per month!!!!

It could simply just be your level of borrowings..........I wouldn't worry about it if you've not missed any payments.

Noddle is borked. Pay for Experian - just cancel after you've checked it. I've done it twice without issue.

I had 3/5 on Noddle, so meh - and 960 out of 999 on Experian.

Also got Noddle and report was 4/5 with score of 615 from memory.
Barclaycard offered a free Experian credit check but when tried it by Barclaycard said unable to provide a score. After discussion with barclaycard they agreed to pay £15 for subscription to Experian- credit score 999- the highest possible- more thab happy with that so don't know why only got a good score with Noddle.
Just had an update from Noddle and score dropped to 3/5 but have applied for 2 new credit cards in last month and now have more credit available. Not a worry as wont need another card until 3year interest period has expired. So as previous poster says don't put to much reliance on it may just be an attempt to get you to subscribe to credit rating improvement service.
Would always advise cancelling old credit cards so only cars with balances on them show as active and also means that you can reapply for same card in a few years time if they have attractive offers.

Check with Clearscore as well - they give free access to your Experian EQUIFAX credit file.

Thanks for the replies. I did find a current bank account showing on Nodle as a loan. There is no overdraft facility on the account so I asked for that to be corrected.

Will try Experian.

Experian are useful in telling you positive and negative factors on your credit score.

I have never figured out exactly how to correct things with my banks right enough.

Despite changing address after I moved house, none of my Lloyds accounts are showing up on my credit report, but the TSB ones are. There also doesn't appear to be any record of my mortgage on my flat.

Edited - it's Equifax it draws from.

Experian you have to pay for (and I've found them to be a complete bunch of useless pricks compared to Clearscore & Noddle!).

Indeed. Having moved to London - and all that entails, in terms of renting, moving around, etc. - they were very useful in 'aligning' my past address history to remove duplicates and errors. Improved my score after that.

Whilst noddle helped me find something which shouldn't have been on my credit file, I'd agree that it's borked.

(erroneous) CCJ on file, credit score not good.
CCJ removed, credit score got worse.

They continually miss huge amounts of info off my report too, I have to continually ask them to check and re-do.

They're easily the worst to deal with of the three, add to the fact you can't actually speak to anyone unless you're coughing up £15/mo for the privilege (which I refuse to do - I won't pay them to be st, I'll make 'em work for that £2 statutory report!).

My noddle was 4 out of 5 for a long time and then last month became 5 out of 5 for no discernible reason. MAGIC!

As Sarnie has said, the absolute key to maintaining a reasonable credit profile is not missing payments.
