Sunday Service Bruntingthorpe 28/02
The time has come to announce our next Sunday Service of the year

On February 28 we will be having a good old fashioned Sunday morning car meet at Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome for 250 PHers. If you, like us, can think of nothing better to do on a Sunday morning than look at cars, talk about cars, eat a hot roll and drink a hot beverage then Bruntingthorpe is the place to be! We expect to be finished about midday, giving you the time to spend Sunday at home, or at the pub perhaps.
This will also be the first Sunday Service that the new official PistonHeads Sunday Service photographer, Mr Chris Teagles, will be in attendance to capture the morning's activities; make sure your car is looking its best!
For those of you that haven't been to Bruntingthorpe before, it was opened in 1942 as an RAF base with a 2,000m runway and was used by both our own and the United States Air Forces. Today, the site is privately owned with the vast expanse of runway used for commemorating the war effort as well as letting journalists hoon around like madmen for testing...

See you there!

Answers to your questions:
Food:
We're bringing a high quality catering company along (that's run by a PHer!) so you won't be going hungry!
Times:
Will be supplied on Wednesday along with the joining instructions
Photos with planes:
YES! Well, sort of. We're waiting to hear back on some details from Bruntingthorpe on the logistics front (keep in mind the planes are dotted about the place). We think that we can provide this facility with some organisation, in combination with us using our brand new PH event photographer, Chris Teagles, who will professionally snap your car for you!
Driving activities:
I'm afraid not. I know it seems weird given how much space there is at Bruntingthorpe, but the costs associated with using them are prohibitive - insurance, Marshalls, ambulances and stuff all cost money, and further more like all venues Bruntingthorpe struggles with noise issues and this event is a "quiet day". However, we do have plenty of driving based Sunday services coming up very soon... Perhaps sooner than some of you might expect!
I hope that this helps, and don't forget to bring some cash money with you as the PH Merch shop will be there too!
See you on Sunday,
JD
Thanks for the update.
Will the whole airfield be open to wonder around and view the aircraft exhibited?
Cheers.
We're still waiting to hear back from Bruntingthorpe - to their credit this is all being organised at short notice as another venue pulled out and the good folks at Brunters saved the day!
However, I know that they won't allow driving on the airfield (it would be too tempting for everyone to just disappear off at maximum speed) but some of the planes are probably about a 20 minute walk away. Equally, there may be other stuff happening on the airfield so pedestrians may not be allowed.
In other words... We're working as fast as we can to find out, but we hope to offer a photography solution alongside a big plane at the least!
