Why do cerbera drive better
On 17's rather than 18's?

They drive better on 16". The car was designed to run 16" wheels. I think I read somewhere it really pissed Peter Wheeler off that people wanted to fit 18" because the car was setup for 16", but that doesn't mean it can't be optimised for 18". Fatter side walls are more predictable near the limit, and the other thing to think about, have you ever seen a drag car with low profile tyres? Really stiff sidewalls can make for a jittery ride and on the limit give little or no warning that they are about to let go.

Putting the Cerb back onto the original 16" Oz Saturn wheels was the best upgrade to handling ever. It made far more difference than Nitrons and new bushes...

So it all boils down to a larger aspect ratio
of the tyre?

The 4.5's had bigger brakes though which don't fit 16'" wheels. Very happy with my 17's here.
