£500 for four new Koni shocks isn't bad. A set of Gaz Gold's will cost more that that and although the Koni's won't be very adjustable, they will last much longer.

Karaszy was mentioned on an earlier post, so maybe worth a try?

Failing that, given how many 'S' owners have converted to adjustables, there are probably lots of serviceable standard Koni's knocking around.

I suspect Tony means for the original S shocks?

I have my old ones tucked away somewhere, will try and dig them out later and do a bit of measuring wink

Yellow ones are fronts, all red are rears.Note different position of lower spring seat although this shouldn't matter with fully adjustables?

I presume measurements are from mounting bolt centres?

If so open is 14" and closed are measuring up as 11.5 F and 10.5 R but quite possibly about 10" with those perished bump stops removed?

Don't really know why but I'd like to hang onto these but do have another pair of rears "spare", guess you need all four?

ETA. Springs are 2.25" ID.

Hi Tony.
Did they say why they would not fit.
Size is ok, Plenty of springs up to 400lb, the bearing size can be made to fit the S.

There must be an unwanted set of Koni's out there cluttering up someones garage. Or is everyone hedging their bets in case those GG's spring a leak?

I'm considering changing my Avo's before too long, they may well be surplus.. Put new bushes in them and powder coated the springs, but as I've replaced everything else on mine I'm looking to get new ones..

Hi Alan they didn't mention why they just sent me a link to some others they have for sale. I must admit I couldn't see why they wouldn't fit myself as you say but I was thinking they should know better than me on this.

If anyone does have a good set laying around pm me with details etc

cheers

I'm in Leicester tomorrow and regularly too so could collect or even pick them up at SCH to drop at Tony's as he's only a couple of miles up the road (literally) from me. Don't think he's quite ready for them just yet

Which S is yours? I have a set for S1, 2 & 3
I remember from somewhere the heights/lengths are specific to each model. (I think)
