I was about to order these from Nomad Racing (£40 + Del) but decided to have a quick look round the Net

I've found this site

www.body-kit.co.uk/acatalog/ford_escort_mk4_taillights.html

At the Bottom they appear to be selling the same/similar lights for £26.95 + Del (£32.95 to NI) which is cheapest I've seen.

But question is, has anyone used/heard anything about this company ?

Otherwise looks like a good deal !

Thats for the (Horrible IMO) Clear/Blue tail lights

But the Red/smoked ones (same as Podies) were £26.95, but just checking they appear to have raised the price to £62.95 !!! DOH and I haven't ordered yet

Pah hope the Rower gets his for that price, but looks like I'll get them from Nomad now

www.nomadracing.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=26_28&products_id=52

Sell them for £40 + del (£6.50) Total £46.50

I did pay £59, looks like you have a good deal there, they look good on dark cars, my V8S is black.

Good luck

love those lights, IMHO they look different enough to not be recognised as Escort lights, however they need a dark car (or Mica red to match the red lenses).

To pick up on a point earlier about why do we want to change things, Im happy with the rest of the car, it's just the standard rear lights, to me, are instantly recognisable as Ford Escort and that takes away from the car. All IMHO of course.

I've had people say 'nice car' but then ask 'Is it a kit car ?' solely because of the rear lights.

Anyway, I've ordered these smoked jobbies from Nomad and will post a few pics to add to the others.

Weather getting better........

Is it me, or am I in the minority here?
Some of the radical ideas on tailights seem awful to me
I like the tailights and wouldn't change what is, or will be a classic car.

Mind you the smokey ones

The smoked ones will look good on your Shmern as it's a darker coloured car. That said, I've yet to see them on a lighter coloured car - eg something like Doddze's.

You'll KNOW when your package arrived from Nomad… mine were packed end to end, so I got a package about a meter long

I also found that the car looked a lot wider with the smoked lenses… just a trick of the colour, but certainly gave it a meaner look IMHO These opnes are also E marked, so 100% legal / MOT compatible as they have an orange reflector.

The following is taken from my profile…

Before

So the carpet was pulled back, the bulb holders carefully removed and then I started to undo the six bolts around the lights. That done, I then had to scrape away enough silicon sealant to coat a bathroom and then gently push the unit out... then it was time to do the other one

During

So with a bit of care I cleaned up the holes left by the lights, removed the dead silicon sealant and made sure the drainage pipes from the boot were securely sealed.

With a bit of care the back of the new units were treated to silicon sealant before being pushed home and bolted in place. A bit more sealant around the edges of the lights, a quick tidy up, replace the bulb holders, check all the lights work... and here you go...

After

I don't think the photos do them justice... think it looks very smart, maybe even a bit more

As a bit of a comparison, I sloted a smoked cluster and an original one as a before and after pic...

Both

Whole operation took about three hours, but I took my time, had a few cups of tea and tidied up the carpet and boot drainage tubes whilst I was there.
