After looking at various up-shots of the S fuel tank, it seems there are differing locations for the fuel pick up bowl.. I mention this as the fuel tank on my S3c has the pick up bowl dead centre and causes the exhausts to be mounted slightly lower. I've noticed others on here are left of centre when looking from behind. I'm now wondering whether I've got a V8 tank as the pick up bowl wouldn't be in the way of the exhausts... Thoughts.?

Mine (S3) is definitely on the left of center

Hmmm.. Think it's either splay the exhausts in the V8S style or swap the fuel tank...!!! Could do without more work... rolleyes

Leave it as it is and carry a VERY big fire extinguisher, that looks bloody dangerous! Yep, you have a V8 tank and a V6 exhaust, that is a TVR S first you will not wish to be proud of!
Hartlepool Radiator would certainly be able to modify the tank without too much difficulty. Get rid of the 'in tank' filter at the same time and put the outlet just where you want it. I can recommend their work.

I was working on the theory that if the petrol was pre-warmed it will be less viscous, and therefore squirt through the injectors quicker and 'weyhey' more poke.!!!! laugh

I think the sump is offset on both my S (3 and 3C). Not sure about the alloy tank but it is the pick up point rather than the outlet on that.

Terry,
You would get a much more efficient fuel pre-heating effect if you coiled the fuel delivery pressure feed pipe around the exhaust headers. It would also warm up your garage & workshop nicely on these cold winter mornings.

That's rather a strong accusation to make Paul. Do you have any evidence to prove it's yours?

I did HPI the car before I bought it, so hopefully it doesn't have stolen V8S fuel tank, etc...

I'm putting this on eBay soon if your interested? I changed it for an aluminium one thinking the POR-15 treatment I did hadn't worked (it was fine as it turned out to be some sealant I used on the fuel sender that blocked the fuel pipes). i

Ha ha Glen, although I have just seen a picture of my chassis from earlier today and it didn't have a tank in it.

Agreed, got to be the easier of the two options Terry, especially for a man with your welding skills.

Been looking for polished stainless tubing on the bay Joe. If it's got to be done then I think a little more girth (Niiige) is needed at the tips, much like the V8...
