Sportive Road bike c£1500

Hi
I currently own a 2013 Focus Cayo Evo 5, which since a back injury I find is a little too aggressive on the geometry so I am therefore considering a sportive framed road bike with a more relaxed geometry. Looking at around £1500 ish for a carbon framed bike with minimum 105 spec. Bike predominently used for leisure riding / local group riding distances up to 100 miles.
Any good contenders?

At £1500 dead (plus oodles of free stuff through your "Podium Points" if you're anywhere near Tadley/Reading to pick up from Pedal On)...

105 group less the RS500 chainset, plus Trek's very own "Isospeed De-coupler" to improve the comfort of the frame.
Having said that, I bought a Trek Emonda SL6 (at £2300 it's over budget) and I think it's the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden, even without the de-coupler. The slightly heavier S6 is available at £1500, and if you can push it to £1800 you could have the Emonda SL5 equipped with a full 105 group including the chainset this time. I cannot recommend the Emonda highly enough, especially the 'SL' frame. There's at least one other Emonda owner on here, possibly Banana Boy, with a green SL5. I'm one year and 4,200 miles into ownership now, and apart from a paint chip which was my own fault, I can't find a single thing I don't like about the bike...

Remember you're looking at 36 Podium Points with the SL 5, and that could get you a pair of Speedplay Zero pedals (15PP), Shimano R088 shoes (9PP), and you've still got another 12 points to spread around on bottle cages, pumps etc. if you need them. I got completely kitted out with mine, new pedals, shoes, helmet, lights, carbon fibre bottle cages. All for no more cash over and above the cost of the bike. "Spent" right, podium points are worth somewhere between £9 and £11 each, all accessories/components priced individually, so you could be looking at well over £300 worth of 'stuff' along with the bike.
Sorry to be a bore if you are too far from the Reading area, though! Trek bikes are 'collection only' as directed by Trek from on high, so no mail order/delivery available.

You can have full 105 on a £700 ali bike. So for £1500 I'd aim for ultegra. Giant defy are comfortable and you get a decent spec too.

I'd be tempted by Canyon, but I think I'd probably want discs which rules them out. If you're happy with rim brakes though it's likely to be the best bike out there for the money.

I'd have the Datum 20 if I was buying now, I think! Despite being very happy with my Trek, this Genesis takes looks to another level. I'd want the 20's 105/hydraulic brakes spec on the 10's lovely red frame though.
I wasn't previously a fan of disc-braked bikes, but this looks like a game-changer (personally speaking)

Love that colour! He said in a very manly way. When I was looking for my new bike last year, there was a women's Fuji that got great reviews and it was a similar colour to that. I couldn't quite bring myself to check it out though!That is a pretty bike!
