Help - electric window woes
Discussion
My drivers door electric window has died, thankfully in the up position.
Read the bible and set about dismantling the door.
1 speaker, 3 bolts (2 all but inaccesible), numerous electrical connections and six self tappers later I have a nice view of the inside of my door.
Now what
I can hear a relay clicking when I operate the switch, so assume switch and electrics are ok, but nothing budges.
Glass is in the correct channel and all lubed up with silicone. Mechanism seems okay but still nothing moves.
Is it the motor?
In which case who's is it?
And can you detatch and re-attach to the frame without disturbing the frame?
Got sick of fiddling in the end, so screwed it back together and went for a run... ooh them roads are slippery.

The motor is from a TVR Griffith.
It is a TVR special. It could be the mechanism but I wouldn't assume that just because a relay is clicking that there is power to the motor. It simply means that there is power to the relay. The motors can die BTW but they are not available seperately so you need to get the complete mechanism.
I got one from a breakers.

david beer said:Hi David, was thinking about mailing you about how to speed up the drivers window as mine is very slow...
My Griff has a relay to cure the "slow window".
Put a direct feed on from a spare battery & it went like the clappers!!!
Electrical idiots guide for me please David
Or if your developing a kit e-mail me

Its funny, a slow rise window is "dead posh", if its constant ! My Griff would start quite nice and towards the top would almost stall, no amount of spray would do the trick, now they fly up and would take your arm off.mine also drop 1cm when i open the door, cerbie style. Why ? it means you can get a real good seal when you raise them.
