Hi all

Bit of a strange one on my 987.2 Cayman S. I've been suffering a bit of stumble/hesitation at partial/low rev throttle. Changed the plugs and cleaned the MAF and it seems to be just the same. Full throttle and/or high revs are fine.

Just playing around today and whilst the car is staitionary. If you gently Rev the engine with constant throttle it will pull fine to circa 2.5k but then drop back to 2.1k ish whilst still keeping the same throttle position. You then have to push through to get past this point.

Variocam solenoid/actuator? Bit does seem a BT lumpy at idle and at steady engine speeds when staitionary. Any other thoughts?

Try an e-Gas calibration. Steps should be in the owners manual.

For my cars the procedure is with the key off and your foot off the gas pedal during this process then turn the key on. Leave it on for at least 60 seconds. Turn the key off for at least 10 seconds. Done. The next time the engine is started the e-Gas calibration is complete.

Are you able to connect an OBD2 code reader to the car's OBD2 port and check for any pending codes?

Doesn't read like a Variocam Plus problem, but who knows? When one went out on my 2002 Boxster the engine idle started going down to nearly 500 RPMs then up again to near normal and back down and so on.

No CEL and no active codes, but one pending code: P1431 IIRC.
