As title...

A company we have never dealt with keep sending us small payments via PayPal (between 10 and 30 Euros each time).

So far we've refunded 3 payments, over the space of several months, each with a covering email and the last one with a statement saying we would deduct an admin fee from any future payments. We receive no reply.

Another €10 arrived today. Am I legally entitled to simply send them an invoice for €10 admin fee?

It's obviously not much effort to keep sending the money back, just an annoying waste of my time...

So, just wondering if there is a legal precedent if someone won't stop sending you money!

If you can demonstrate that you've made every effort to tell them they're mistaken in sending you the money, and they insist on continuing to send it to you, why not just send them a final communication - by recorded snail mail as well if possible - telling them that if they insist on sending you further payments, you will simply keep them with no goods or services being provided in return?

There's only so far that anyone reasonable could expect you to try and deal with the idiocy of others!

If you have a phone number why not phone up and speak to them.

Some form of money laundering, perhaps?

Just keep it in your pay pal.

You are just the custodian then, if they ask for it back then so be it

if not spend it later on

Sounds possible.

Just keep it in a separate account and keep records of your advice to them.

You think they only target one account?

I would think there are better ways of doing it then thousands of accounts at 10 Euros a time, to make it worthwhile. A risky way of losing 10 Euros lots of times if you ask me. A lot of reciprients wouldn't even notice, let alone transfer it back.

Paypal charge for refunds too. Only 20p a time, but it's a bit petty of them.

I don't understand how this would be laundering? Surely any refunds are just sent back to the same PayPal account?

Keep it for 60 days and see what happends, after that they have no Buyer Protection to claim a 'refund'.
