need some advice on bike choices.
i am looking to take the cycle to work scheme up.
now i do around 3 miles to work and 3/4 back.
i would like to start using a bike a bit downhill and get into that sort of thing at the weekends.
i can max out the £1000 option on the cycle to work scheme if i want.
what are my choices?
i was looking at a lapierre raid FX

For that sort of mileage you could ride just about anything. I do a 20 mile round trip on a Trek Cobia 29er with was in that price range when new.
Having said that, if you are commuting day in day out, week in week out AND doing a lot of serious weekend stuff there is an argument to say get a BSO for the all-weather commute and keep the Lapierre or whatever for good.
