Recruitment Consultants Baffling!

I am just wondering if anyone has ever been baffled by the behaviour of recruitment consultants. Actually I can see this might be quite an open question so maybe I should be more specific!

I got a LinkedIn message from some guy in London for a job that fitted my skills to a T and better, so he said, near to home – perfect I thought. However when I try to contact him at his office he’s either on the phone or away from his desk. And 3 days later no reply to the 1 follow up email I sent.

Not sure what sort of kick he gets out of it. Quite tempted to send the email he sent to me to his boss but he maybe as slimy and unprofessional as his report.

Well that's me out of ideas. He may be busy or just waiting to hear back from the recruiting firm

They are time wasters. Block the number and move on. Last year one phoned me and wanted me to go for an interview in a hours time at 3. I said yes to wind him up and then blocked his number. I received 5 different messages from him on 5 mobile numbers. They waste my time I'll waste theirs

Some are better than others. Some are totally disorganised, some operate on a volume principle, some actually do try.

I had one who arranged an interview and phoned or texted me every single day to let me know she was still waiting to hear back from the employer. When I eventually got a rejection she went back and asked for detailed feedback then relayed it all to me - took her a good hour or so to go through it all and discuss what would suit me better.

Others ring and don't even leave a message, or disappear into thin air after getting your CV. Or never let you know how an interview went - for all I know I have been offered hundreds of jobs over the years!

He had a brief. He approached a lot of people with a similar message, some not that close a match, some a much better match. He's got enough leads for those that better fit.
