Door lock / latch

My passenger door latch has seized up to the extent that the solenoid (new) does not have the strength to lock the door. WD40 is ineffective so I guess it's had it. Any ideas where to get a replacement? Racetech have them but £125(!) and for later models with door opening buttons, I need the earlier version which open mechanically. Suggestions appreciated.

This £20 one would fit a Griff http://www.racetechdirect.co.uk/m0599-tvr-car-part... - which is purely mechanical external and internal opening. All it does is move a lever on the door latch via a bit of coat hanger - I'd have thought a Chim would be the same?

Thanks. The solenoid is fine, it's the lock mechanism it acts on which needs replaced. It's a GM part but not sure what from.

Have you checked for free movement of the internal door release? Some careful lubrication might save the day?

Thanks for the advice. Even by pulling direct on the mechanism where the solenoid connects it will only move about 5mm. In contrast, the working side moves a good few centimetres at least. Tried WD40 etc but no joy.
