Used centenary Vanquishes
Discussion
Hi all
Was just wondering if many centenary edition vanquishes ever come up for sale on the used market and what they typically sell for above the price of standard cars?
Also how many right hand drive cars were produced and what was the original retail price for them when they were released?
Tempted to return to the fold after a year or so since I sold my beloved V8 Vantage to fund the purchase of a series 1 Jaguar E-type. I love the jag, the beautiful looks and the positive attention it gets but it just doesn't get the used and with prices climbing it's now not far away from the value of a used Vanquish. I also now have a 3 month old son and I would like to have a car we can enjoy as a family so the occasional rear seats is quite appealing. Not sure how useable they are though?

For the original Vanquish you are best asking over on the AMOC forum, in the Vanquish section. A friendly lot.
centenary was based on gen2 Vanquish no ?I don't recall seeing one come up for sale in the UK - I'm not sure they ever hit their max/target - they weren't marketed particularly well
IIRC, they were well before the 8 speed box too
Here's an interesting question - DB11 launch spec or 2k mile Vanquish latest gen 8 speed (2015) for a few £k less ?

I'd go DB11 for 3 months, then out it for what I paid or a smidge more hopefully and jump into the Vanquish......get the best of both then.I don't recall seeing one come up for sale in the UK - I'm not sure they ever hit their max/target - they weren't marketed particularly well

I think I can remember you showing us a photograph of your Jaguar, Trevor.
When you find your Vanquish, will you retain your Jaguar, or are your PH friends allowed to form an orderly queue?
A wonderful stable mate for my keeper V8 Vantage 4.7, which coinidentally could also be called a series 1.

Sorry for the confusion, I am looking at a 2013 onwards Vanquish. I feel that a Vanquish fits my current lifestyle better than the E-type and I never dreamt of being able to afford a vanquish having owned my lowly 4.3 Vantage only a couple of years ago. The combination of selling another car, the price rise in the classic car market and the depreciation of Vanquishes now has one at touching distance so I am seriously considering a change. I realistically can only stretch to a 6 speed which is why I wanted to know if the Centenary edition held much of a premium over the standard car as I really like the look of them.
Dewi, here are some pictures of the E-type. It's not for sale yet but would happily have a chat with anyone if they were seriously interested in the car. It's a 1967 Series 1 FHC that had over £35k spent on it by the previous owner. It has tons of history and was once registered to Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. It's a stunning car and gets WAY more positive attention than my Aston ever did but it really is a garage queen.

Thank you Trevor.
I am on travels at present, and only have use of a rather temperamental tablet computer.
When back, about a week, I will try to send you a private email through your Profile page.
