Question about harness routes and safety
Discussion
I installed harnesses in my previous track car (Mk 1 MR2) and spent ages reading all the Schroth literature about how to do so safely. I ended up with a really good end result, but also learnt what a potentially complex subject it can be. Perhaps someone can give me a quick answer to this question?
I'm going to view an S2 Exige tomorrow, which has the factory fitted sports seats and 4-point harnesses. Due to my height, it's likely that my shoulders will be higher than the harness bar. Is this a problem? The harness bar is directly behind the seats, each strap will have to angle slightly up for 6 - 8 inches, then over my shoulders and down my torso to the buckle.
Thanks all.

Shoulders belts must be level or angled down (shoulder to mounting)to maintain the correct fitment. So this should be OK.

Fonzey,
Having sat in the car (and bought it!) I think the seats are very secure. The lowest point of the seat is about 4-6" lower than the front edge of it, so your arse would have to go quite sharply uphill (against the tension of the belts) before you could slide out form under them. However, I believe it's possible to add extra straps to convert to 6-point, I am going to do some research about how they would be mounted - I have no intention of drilling holes into the floor etc!
Thanks for the advice all.
