t mate, been like it for days and now the weekend's here nothing will happen til Monday. And by 'happen' I mean 'someone will say it's not PH's fault, it's the mysterious 'third party ad company'. Or that despite loads of users all being driven nuts by it that they 'can't replicate the issue'...
I now use ad blocking on nearly all my devices. The only one I haven't got it on is the new 6P because I don't want to root it and nuke the warranty just yet. Unsurprisingly it's also the only device where PH is slow, unresponsive or plain just broken. Get rid of the fking ads and it works fine.
At some stage it'll get so bad people will just leave and they'll wonder why they spent millions on the site when no-one uses it any more (or everyone's ad blocking!).
I was about to say I would happily pay a subscription in order to have an ad-free experience but with the site as is now vs. how it used to be, I'm not even sure I'd want to cough up the money now were it an option. TBH I can go ad-free with ad blocking at no cost.
Someone at PH needs to take a long hard look at their ad policies when the user experience is so degraded by the adverts being served up.

Ah, cheers Funk. I did see that thread title but as I'm on a Tab-S on Android I wrongly assumed it would be a different issue.
I've looked into trying to run an adblocker but it seems it's not overly straight forward on an Android tablet if you want to use Chrome. I've just installed the Firefox app and the uBlock Origin add on, which is ok, but I still prefer chrome (probably just because it's what I'm used to).
I actually just found a cure that works when running Chrome via a thread from last year - someone suggested turning off Javascript so that the ads can't even load... and it's only bloody worked! I've never known this site to run so quick and smoothly.
So, no more pesky ads. I assume that's what Haymarket wanted - make the site so bloody irritating that everyone just gets rid of the ads altogether...?
