Factory visits info request
Discussion
Depends on when you want to go but during July the pagini factory will not be open to tours because it will be moving location. I know this because I emailed them asking for a visit, I last was there 9 years ago. It's really easy to book, just email them directly. There tours are fantastic and friendly.
Regarding staying in maranello, I drive there every year and used to stay at Plant hotel which was the main Ferrari hotel located opposite the factory. However because now the new Ferrari f1 centre is right next to the hotel, the car park is always full to the brim. These days I stay at the Maranello hotel which seems now to be the main Ferrari hotel.
Food wise in Maranello, the place to expereance once is the Montana restaurant, it's were all the drivers and famous people go. They can be rude as f
k if you are joe blogs and not famous, but the food is nice. However the Cavalino were ENZO used to eat every dat opposite the factory gates is a great friendly place with great food.
Naturally you should go to the Ferrari museum which is called the Galleria, also the new ENZO Ferrari museum, both great great places.
If you are a Ferrari owner you can easily get a factory tour by contacting say Graypauls. I booked another visit to the Maranello factory only last month through Graypaul for July after I leave the Classic Lemans. The lady that organised the factory tour at Graypauls was called Lauren, she only took 3 day to confirm my chosen date.
Hey don't forget that the Lamborghini factory and museum is only 30 mins away from maranello. The museum is open every day and you will have to send an email to book a factor tour. However parking at the Lamborghini factory is siht, at one time you could park on site, these days you have to park around the corner in a very dodgy public car park.
Now even if you are not into motorcycles the Ducati factory tour is right up there as one of the best. I went last year and it's again only 30 mins from Maranello. I have Italian bikes anyway and have been to them all, Ducati is up there. Just send am email, it's quite easy to arrange and was €20 IIRC.
Tip. While you are in Maranello, look out for a great Ferrari gararge called Tonys , always a great selection of Ferraris there getting fixed, it's a friendly and open place. It's only 300 meters away from the factory. Also find the Maranello cafe, this place is great on race days because it shows the races on a giant outdoor screen.
While in Maranello there are loads of Ferraris and Lambos to hire for rides, the sales guys are everywhere.
If you are driving then I recommend you drive past the Maranello cafe and up into the Maranello hills, this route is one of the main Ferrari test run roads.
Hope this helps.

Similar to Fez really.
A crowd of us were there a few years ago working, and on our day off we visited the Ferrari museum. Although its not the biggest i really enjoyed it, and there are lots of shops near by worth having a nose in for all things Ferrari and car related. As mentioned lots of places doing the hire car thing, and as this was my only real chance i payed a silly amount of money to drive a F430 which was fantastic.
Some of the other lads did Lamborghini and rated it, but the lads who did the Ducati trip were raving about it for days, it seemed very, very popular.
The pizza place in Maranello is very good
