Hi all, just replaced my fuel hose with Goodyear 'Hard Wall' petrol delivery hose. I had to buy a length so I've put what I had left on e-bay cut into 1.1m lengths if anyone's interested in replacing theirs (my S3 hose is 900mm long
last year I replaced my tank to pump hose with a marine rubber fuel hose. Had some problems with it kinking but popping a spring inside sorted that.
However, I've never been happy with just a fabric reinforced rubber hose; the original, which I removed, had a steel braid in it for protection and also to stop it kinking.
Eventually, I managed to find a fuel hose with an internal steel braid just like the original (except its green) with a 16mm ID and 25mm OD (most internally braided hoses are hydraulic hoses and not suitable for unleaded petrol). The hose is a Goodyear petrol delivery hose like the ones you see at fuel stations but a smaller diameter. I had to bur several meters of hose which cut quite easily with ann angle grinder. A little silicone grease, couple of clamps and cable ties later, the new hose is fitted and looks great (not that anyone's going to see it).
Fuel hose hose sorted.
